The Rock Alchemist: Eyes of mind
20/11/12 || gk
Debut album from these Italian hard rockers and this is pretty decent stuff. The music owes a fair bit to 80s hard rock/ heavy metal and more modern prog-metal sounds. The musicianship is of a generally high quality and while not all of the songs succeed in capturing attention, when they do, like on “Fly away” it’s a pretty solid performance. The riffs are inventive, the chorus is catchy and the band sounds good. This kind of prog-hard rock-heavy metal is not something I usually listen to or like but The Rock Alchemist are a talented band and issues with the vocals aside, if you like this genre then the band might have a fair bit to offer.
7/10: Enough quality here to mask the average.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
